This daylong course teaches the fundamental principles of sustainability—and ultimately profitability—in the arts. This includes classes on finance, law, marketing, and fundraising. Participants will work through a flexible and dynamic “action plan,” which will provide a blueprint for their future project, career, and business goals. Each receives specific feedback from experts in the field as well as their peers in the course.
The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) 'Artist as Entrepreneur' program provides professional development training to fine artists, utilizes individual and group learning, and emphasizes community-building among the participants.
*This program is open to Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) students, alums, and faculty. Early registration recommended. Space is limited. First 10 registrants will receive a free copy of "The Profitable Artist: A Handbook for All Artists in the Performing, Literary, and Visual Arts"*
